Dialogue

In the following dialogue, the plot of this chapter will be developed.

Al principio sonido de oficina, como impresoras para mostrar que están en un entorno de trabajo

Sara: Hi Aria, I’m here for my performance review.  (neutral tone)

Aria: Hi Sara, please take a seat. I have some good news and some bad news for you.(neutral tone)

Sara: Oh, really? What’s the good news? Tono interrogante, curious tone

Ruido de remover papeles mientras estan hablando. Tambien añadir como si fuera un ruido de telefono de fondo, para enfatizar que estan en una oficina

Aria: The good news is that you are the top seller in our department. You have exceeded your sales quota by 50% and generated a lot of revenue for the company. (positive tone)

Sara: Wow, that’s great! Thank you so much. What’s the bad news then? (surprised tone)

Aria: The bad news is that you have also received the most complaints from your customers. They say you are rude, pushy, and dishonest. Some of them even threatened to sue us for fraud. (serious tone)

Sara: What? That’s ridiculous! I’m just doing my job. I’m not rude, I’m assertive. I’m not pushy, I’m persuasive. I’m not dishonest, I’m creative. (tono defensivo)

Aria: Well, whatever you call it, it’s not working for us. We value customer satisfaction and trust more than sales numbers. That’s why I have to let you go. (mostrando firmeza)

Sara: What? You’re firing me? Just like that? (shocked tone)

Aria: I’m afraid so. I’m sorry, Sara, but this is the best decision for the company. Please pack your things and leave by the end of the day. (mostrando disculpas)

Sara: This is outrageous! This is unfair! This is discrimination! I’ll sue you for wrongful termination! (tono de enfado)

Aria: Good luck with that. Tony will escort you out.

Ruido de pasos cuando Tony entra en la habitación y se acerca a Sara

Tony: Hi Sara. Sorry to hear about your situation. Can I help you with anything? (simpatico. preocupado)

Sara: No, you can’t. You can just stay away from me. You’re probably happy that I’m gone. You’ve always been jealous of me. You’ve always wanted to take my place as the top seller. (acusando, firme)

Tony: Actually, no. I’ve always admired you. You’re a great seller and a great person. I’ve always wanted to be your friend and maybe something more.

Sara: What? Are you serious? You’re hitting on me now? After I just got fired? (surprised tone)

RUIDO DE UNA PUERTA QUE SE ABRE Y SE CIERRA CUANDO Tony ACOMPAÑA A SARA FUERA DE LA OFICINA

Tony: Well, yeah. I thought this might be a good opportunity to ask you out. You know, since you’re free now and all. (confident tone)

Sara: Tony, you’re unbelievable. You’re unbelievable and adorable and kind of cute. Did you know that?  (simpatico, friendly)
