This week we bring new current topics in Episode 28 so you can improve your online speaking from home.
Topic 1: The Literature Nobel Award
We will focus the conversation on the following questions:
1.What profession, apart from being a writer, does the Nobel Prize have?
2.What is something characteristic about her narrative?
3.Did her setting somehow influence her literature?
4.What does Annie Ernaux seek to offer through her writing?
5.Which are the main books that boosted her career?
Here we leave you some vocabulary you can use during the talk:
-To launch (‘launched’): When something pushes someone forward into obtaining something superior.
-Renowned: Well-known / Distinguished.
-Shifting: Changing, in evolution.
-Frankly: Honestly.
-Obscure: Mysterious.
-The Laureate: The official and recognised writer, poet… An honorific meant for the winner of an award.

Topic 2:The Metaverse
We will focus the conversation on the following questions:
- Do you see the idea of the creation of a virtual life parallel to the real one possible? What do you think of the idea?
- What advantages would the development of a metaverse have?
- What disadvantages would the development of a metaverse have?
- Do you think that with the emergence of the metaverse social relations will change? Why?
- Do you think that with the appearance of the metaverse the quality of real life on earth will increase?
Here we leave you some vocabulary you can use during the talk:

- Iteration: the process of doing something again and again, usually to improve it, or one of the times you do it
- Fuzzy: (Of an image) having shapes that do not have clear edges, or (of a sound, especially from a television, radio, etc.) not clear, usually because of other unwanted noises making it difficult to hear
- To toss: Throw something carelessly
- Immersive games: Game that surrounds the player, making them completely involved
- Real-world exactness: absolutely accurate or correct in every detail with the real world
- Web browser: an application used to access and view websites. Common web browsers include Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari
- A corporate version: means relating to business corporations or to a particular business corporation
- Harassment: aggressive pressure or intimidation.
- Interoperability: the ability of computer systems or software to exchange and make use of information.
Topic 3: The future of work, and robots
We will focus the conversation on the following questions:
- Do you believe we will have the same kind of jobs in 20 years? Why?
- Do you think that robots will be «the end of working»?
- In your opinion, which job is most affected by robots nowadays?
- If robots are going to be a part of our future, will they always be beneficial for us? Why?
- Do you think that robots can be better workers than humans?
Here we leave you some vocabulary you can use during the talk:
- Unemployment: The state of not being employed, not having a job
- Labor income: The amount of money that someone employed earns by working.
- Automation: Use of computers, robots and machines that can operate without needing human control or help.
- Longshoreman: Person who loads and unloads ships at a seaport.
- Recession: Period of reduced economical activity, because of low economical performance.
- Labor market: The amount of workers and available jobs at a given time.
- Displace: To remove from an office, status, or job.
